Yet another wk passed…
Not much was happening for this wk, just more duties, witnessing emergencies of A/C and of coz the understanding issues of seniors and juniors. Well, it’s all in a days work to settle them all.
Mess function was on Friday, and as the most junior course, we had to cook for everyone! Boss came over to support and gave us advice on how to make the food taste better and looks better! Although the fried rice and sambal chicken did not really turn out what we have expected, but was surely a good start, at least they finish all the food that was served.
Saturday was back at Boss place for the major Chinese New Year celebration with all the instructors and family, entire student body and of coz the supporting ground crew which all things possible in flight! I finally had Tim sum and yummy century egg porridge! There was also roast pig to start off the celebration and not forgetting our favorite activity during Chinese New Year… Gambling!! The event ended with the boss giving us mandarin oranges and “ang bao” as good luck! Hope my lottery ang bao will bring me good luck for my stay here…
Will be flying tml for orientation and basic handling! The day has finally come for me to board the a/c. It’s been a year since I last flown out to an area.

Happy Chinese New Year
18th Feb 2057
Just got back from Perth City and it was awesome! Took quite a number of photos and visited some pretty cool places… Will try to post up soon! There was celebration in town today. Lion dance, Chinese people singing in a super chi-nah tone and chi-nah songs in the public. The Asian girls in town are really quite pretty! I’m serious… Maybe most of them are mixed not pure Chinese Chinese. Saw one ger at dinner who looks a lot like Jieyan but I think it’s the taller and more Aussie ed. version of her. Although the Chinese food here are pretty tasty, but I still think Singapore local food are better…

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone! May those who are gambling win with much more and those who dun gamble, have a wonderful time with your family and great time catching up with your relatives.
One month since I last saw Singapore! Wonder how are things back home? Shouldn’t have changed much, maybe the streets are filled with decorations and the spirit for the year of PIGs… Hehe… Kina missed home and events back home. Just another weekly statement that I gotta make!
This week was rather short with work ending on a Thursday and abit of running around and LP out of base. Just came back from the Boss place for Chinese New Year celebration. First of all, the houses here are really nice and especially if it’s near to the coast! Damn… With some imagination and creativities, you can get a heaven out of this area. Boss place was simple but filled with cozy corners and a front yard where we had our “gambling” sessions and movie screen. Since my course is the most junior course here, we are “task” to settle the food and entertainment. I did the BBQ with some of the guys and set up the screens for the movie “Kungfu Hustle”. There were a few hiccups here and there but was surely an enjoyable evening. Some of the Instructors came as well with their family and kids. Just like a family reunion dinner, just that Boss got 3 courses worth of more kids with age and sizes varies.
Had a good sharing session with the Boss and learned a lot about him and the life in SQN. Today, I have found new respect for him and the work he does. He had proven that with greater technology doesn’t mean we will win the fight. It has to incorporate with creativity and a willing to try attitude to gain the upper hand and rise as the winner. There are many ways to solve a problem. Even if the odds are against you, you will never know what the end state will be till you hit the bugger with all you have plus alit more of the brain juice. Fight for what you want and what you believe, dun let the opportunity slips pass, because you never know when you will be given a second chance.
Will be going to Perth City tomorrow morning… Wonder if there is any Hong Kong CafĂ©? Hm… Kina missed tim sum and some nice ice honey lemon to go along or Chinese tea would be good. First book out to Perth without passing any of the requirements!
Hey Bros and sis! Seen some of the photos on Nigel’s blog, you guys are really having lotsa fun back home! Miss you guys and missed all the events man! Dangz... Can’t wait to be meet up with you guys again!...

Crush and Burn
11th Feb 07 0029
This wk had gone passed filled with ups and downs! Political disputes and dramatic scenes had surface throughout the entire wk! Damn…
My course now is going through a major change with Officers taking the role of an advisor and cadets taking the lead to head each post as they were assigned to. We have shower the cadets too much that they take things for granted! Its time they understand why our ranks are in black thick bars and not white thin strips!
Thursday was supposed to be our course orientation night rehearsal but since there were soo many political disputes, we took the whole entire evening thrashing out problems and clearing it off once and for all. Some went quiet, some break down but this is the process of boys turning to man! Humans dun change overnight, it will turn days and wks or even months to get it right. But I believe we have started somewhere…
~ Today is the FIRST day of your many DAYS to come. DO IT RIGHT and DO IT GOOD! ~
Friday was our orientation night! Invitation was extended to the Base Commander and even 79th SQN and 2FTS. They were pretty sporting and came in with an out heart to see us monkeys perform! Pilots, instructors and even tower controllers took time off to spend the evening w us! Talked to a few of them and understand a little more of how the guys within the base operate. Awesome people I would say…Highlight of the evening was our performance and the drinking session at the end of the night. Performance was kina screw up as CO had put it as watching it painfully. Painful as it may seems but it’s the effort and the though that counts!
The evening ended with another initiation to the mess plus to the SQN. This time round, it’s the real deal of rubbish and the test of unity. First up is the “GROG”. For some who do not know what a “GROG” is, it’s actually a concoction of a lot of other “mixers” and sauces and topping it up with raw eggs. Anyway, the first test was to share a yard of grog with the entire course! Of course, there are rules to the game, there can be no spilling, holding of the yard must be correct as well and of course there is time limit to how much a person have to drink to a limit, if anyone of it is broken, then the senior course will top up the yard with more grog to the brim. Just image, drinking something so slimy, smelly, thick, shitty in color and not forgetting there are bits and pieces of whatever the mixer particles have flowing around. But nevertheless, we did it all even thought they have topped it up about 4 – 6 times for us. There was a challenge post to drink it with our course commander and Dy course commander. Officers of the course took up the challenge and did a wonderful job of showing how commit we are and not saying crazy enough to do it.
Last part of the grog ordeal is to earn our course badge that we will be wearing everyday. Everyone of our course badge were thrown into the grog. With each badge in a cup filled with grog and a raw egg topping, we have to drink it all up and remove the course badge without our hands. This is the culture and tradition of 130SQN.
First simulator lesson started on Saturday for me with a few other guys. Although it’s not the actual flight out but it’s a good start. Silly mistakes were made but was the first of the course to take off in the simulator. It was awesome and the feeling was great like the first time I flown in Tamworth. Can’t wait to get out into the first flight for the area and go for my first solo! Wish me luck…
To all bros and sis of Lah-Goo-Nah beach, this coming week will be Valentine’s Day! So I would like to wish everyone a happy Valentine’s Day. May this be a special day for you and take care always! ~@~

Missing the Companies
4nd Feb 07 2304
Mid of the wk, big “Hu-Ha” with the RSM and instructor! Some major misunderstanding that coz a lot of ugly sights to surface! This is surely not the way, to make it thru’ as a team! Why things can’t just carried out as planned or is there just to much ego, personnel perspective and politics in just being a human being and building friendship! I dun know and not understanding it… Getting tired over such situation that not many is willing to talk about and rectify the freaking problem, because no one will find themselves in the wrong! Why make life so difficult for each other…
It’s the end of the wk and many things had been said and done! Friday night is the usual mess night at the eagles’ nest with the instructors and managements. It was a time of sharing and getting to know everyone a little more! Think I will keep myself off the BBQ food for a while… It’s been str8 2 mess night with BBQ food! Dangz…. After that was poker with the guys till 5am on a sat morning. Couldn’t even wake up for lunch with the course! I need to get back lost sleep!
Orientation night is coming Friday! It will surely be a night with lots of “ter-kan” and the drinking of a special concoction. I believe it will look awesome and a smooth ride into the SQN after having our rehearsals this afternoon...
Gona start the simulator soon and soon after the first flight out! Can’t wait to take off and fly into the clear blue sky and feel the adrenaline pumping.
Been having dreams of friends and bros back home in Singapore! Had a weird dream just last night about someone I have not seen for a really long time! I will not elaborate how weird it is but it sure woke me out of my sleep.. It’s not a bad dream but something that I dun think will ever happen! Guess I jus miss the companies back home and of course my family and Lah-Goo-Nah beach bros and sis!
Hope to post more updates of myself here and always glad to receive updates of the Lah-Goo-Nah beach.
A Question post by my course Dy: “ What wld you do if there is a hijacked 747 flying str8 for shenton way and you the given the order to fire! Wld you or wld you not take the aim? What wld you do?
